She Swapped Her Signature Dark Hair for Auburn Curls — and the Internet Is Losing It
Nobody does a hair transformation quietly, but Selena Gomez somehow managed to hide this one until the very last slide of an Instagram carousel — and honestly, that made it even better.

On June 3, Selena posted a behind-the-scenes photo dump from London, where she is currently filming season six of Only Murders in the Building alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short. Most of the photos were exactly what you would expect — city sights, co-star moments, a very good time in England. And then, buried at the end of the carousel, was the surprise everyone is talking about.

A red wig. Wavy. Auburn. Framing her face in a way that is somehow both unexpected and completely natural on her.
Selena's caption for the whole post? "Wild things happening with @onlymurdershulu while adoring london." Understated, as always.
What Is Mabel Doing in London — and Why Is She a Redhead?
For fans of the Hulu show, the red hair is not just a style choice — it is a plot clue, and a pretty significant one.
The season five finale left audiences with a jaw-dropping ending. Cinda Canning, played by Tina Fey, was revealed to be connected to the story of a red-headed woman from the United Kingdom who was accused of killing a royal heir. Cinda ended the episode stumbling through city streets with bloodied hands before collapsing and dying right outside the Arconia's gate — which officially pulled Mabel, Oliver, and Charles into a brand new mystery and sent the trio straight to London.
So the auburn wig Selena is sporting? It is almost certainly Mabel going undercover as she digs into Cinda's past. And if season six follows the same unpredictable energy the show has always delivered, things are about to get very complicated very fast.
Steve Martin, Martin Short, and a Tortoise Walk Into London
The rest of the cast seems to be having an equally good time across the pond. Steve Martin posted his own London update on May 30, captioning a photo with the words "Working with the great British actors in London is a joy!" — only for the reveal to be that the British actor in question was a tortoise.
Nobody knows what the tortoise's role in the season six mystery is. Nobody is being told. And honestly, that is the most Only Murders thing that has ever happened.
Selena also shared a photo of herself crouched on a theater stage in a lime green gown, plus a group shot of her, Steve, and Martin posing on a bridge near the London Eye. The three of them clearly have an ease around each other at this point that only comes from years of working closely together — and it shows in every behind-the-scenes glimpse fans get.
As Long As the Quality Is There, We'll Always Want to Do It"
One of the most reassuring things about the Only Murders in the Building universe right now is that the people making it genuinely want to keep going. According to E! News, Steve Martin told reporters back in September that as long as the quality remains where it currently is, the cast will always want to keep doing the show.
That kind of enthusiasm from someone as accomplished as Martin does not come automatically. It says something real about what this show has become — not just a critical hit, but a project that the people involved are actually proud of and genuinely enjoy.
Season six does not have a release date yet, but with the cast already deep into filming in London and new details slowly trickling out through Instagram carousels, the wait is already feeling very real for the Hulu show's dedicated fanbase.
Red hair, royal heirs, a mysterious tortoise, and Tina Fey's dramatic death scene to follow up on. Season six is shaping up to be a lot.
