The former Real Housewives of Orange County star is now facing criminal charges — and not the kind that get resolved with a dramatic confessional on reality TV. Kelly Dodd has been hit with a revenge porn charge, along with criminal threats and battery, putting her at risk of actual jail time.

What the Charges Actually Say

According to TMZ, which obtained the legal documents, prosecutors allege that Kelly unlawfully and intentionally distributed footage of a woman engaged in sexual activity without that person's consent. The incident allegedly took place on or around August 29, 2025.

The documents state that Kelly and the woman, identified only as Jane Doe, had previously agreed to keep the images private. Prosecutors say that agreement was violated. The woman in the video reportedly suffered severe emotional distress as a result, and the footage was allegedly recorded under circumstances where she had a reasonable expectation of privacy.

That alone would be serious enough. But the charges do not stop there.

Threats and a Separate Battery Allegation

Around the same time as the alleged revenge porn incident, prosecutors claim Kelly reached out to the same woman and threatened to harm her, her property, and her family. That adds a criminal threats charge on top of everything else.

And separately, Kelly is also facing a battery charge stemming from a completely different incident, allegedly involving a different woman, that reportedly occurred back in June 2025.

When you add it all up, Kelly Dodd is now staring down three misdemeanor charges simultaneously. While none of them are felonies, the combination of revenge porn, criminal threats, and battery is still serious enough that jail time is very much on the table.

From Reality TV to Real Consequences

Kelly Dodd was a full-time cast member on The Real Housewives of Orange County from Season 11 through Season 15, and she was never exactly known for keeping things calm. She left the show ahead of Season 16 amid controversy, and her life since then has played out largely through social media and her podcast with husband Rick Leventhal, the former Fox News correspondent.

The couple married in September 2021. But according to separate court documents also obtained by TMZ, Kelly and Rick officially separated on August 1, 2025 — just weeks before the alleged revenge porn incident on August 29.

Whether there is any connection between those two timelines is not something prosecutors have addressed publicly. But the timing is hard to ignore.

No Comment From Kelly's Team Yet

As of the time of publication, neither Kelly nor her representatives have responded to requests for comment on the charges. She has not directly addressed the legal situation publicly, though her Instagram has remained active.

For a woman who built her public persona on saying exactly what was on her mind no matter the consequences, the silence right now is notable.

Reality TV drama is one thing. Criminal charges are something else entirely. And right now, Kelly Dodd is dealing with the latter.
