Joy Behar Taking a Break From The View — Who's Filling In?
Joy Behar is trading the hot topics table for a little European adventure, and honestly, good for her.

The 83-year-old View co-host announced she is stepping away from the daytime show for a couple of weeks — first for a vacation in Paris, then to star in her own play in London's West End. It is a pretty exciting double booking for someone who has been sitting at that table since literally the first season of the show.
Paris First, Then London's West End
According to E! News, Joy broke the news herself on The View's Behind the Table podcast on May 26, casually dropping that she is flying to Paris before taking the Chunnel over to London for week two.
The London leg is not just sightseeing. Joy is starring in a play called My First Ex-Husband at the Boulevard Theatre in the West End. She described the setup with obvious excitement, noting it features herself and comedian Jackie Hoffman as two American women alongside two British actresses. "Doesn't that sound like fun?" she asked. It genuinely does.
Her last episode before heading out is May 28, so fans have one more day to catch her before she's off.
A Solid Lineup of Replacements
The show is not going to leave the table empty, though. Behind the Table executive producer Brian Teta has sorted out a solid rotation of guest co-hosts to keep things lively while Joy is away.
Comedian and former The Talk co-host Sheryl Underwood will be stepping in, which is a pretty natural fit given her daytime talk show background. Tech journalist and author Kara Swisher is also coming in for a week — Brian called her "very funny, very smart," which is exactly the kind of energy The View table tends to need.
Rotating panelist Ana Navarro, who normally shows up only on Mondays and Fridays, will be expanding her presence and appearing on additional days during Joy's absence. And in a slightly unexpected twist, Whoopi Goldberg will be coming in on Fridays — which is normally her day off. Brian laughed while revealing that detail, saying, "I don't think she knows yet."
Joy Is Not Going Anywhere Permanently
Before anyone starts reading too much into the hiatus, Joy has been pretty clear about where she stands on retirement. In a September interview with Entertainment Tonight, she put it simply: creative people do not retire. "They don't resign, they just keep going."
That tracks for someone who has been with The View since day one. She only missed seasons 17 and 18 across the show's entire run, which is a remarkable streak by any measure. Taking two weeks to do a West End play and eat croissants in Paris is not exactly a farewell tour — it is just Joy being Joy.
The table will be in good hands while she is gone. But it will not quite be the same without her.
